SOHCAHTOA

sohcahtoa,
sohcahtoa,
sohcahtoa,
you think its easy,
but its quite tricky.
firstly there is three formulae's involved in trigonometry,
sin,
cos,
tan.
sin = opposite / hypotenuse,
cos = adjacent / hypotenuse,
tan = opposite / adjacent.
hypotenuse means
the longest side opposite the right-angle,
adjacent and opposite mean
that the side relates to the angle under
consideration.
for example,
if you want to find the length of side BC
you would,
use the sin rule, because...
we are given angle A and side AB.
AB is the hypotenuse.
BC is opposite angle A.
therefore you would do
sin = opposite / hypotenuse
sin thirty = BC / seven
multiply both sides by seven
seven x sin thirty = BC
using a calculator we get
BC = three point five cm
sohcahtoa,
oh sohcahtoa,
you think you're east but
you're actually quite tricky.
