Lyrical Analysis of...
SOHCAHTOA
- sohcahtoa,
- sohcahtoa,
- sohcahtoa,
- you think its easy,
- but its quite tricky.
- firstly there is three formulae's involved in trigonometry,
- sin,
- cos,
- tan.
- sin =opposite /hypotenuse,
- cos =adjacent /hypotenuse,
- tan =opposite /adjacent.
- hypotenuse means
- the longest side opposite the right angle,
- adjacent and opposite mean
- that the side relates to the angle under
- consideration.
- for example,
- if you want to find the length of side BC
- you would,
- use the sin rule, because...
- we are given angle A and side AB.
- AB is the hypotenuse.
- BC is opposite angle A.
- therefore you would do
- sin =opposite /hypotenuse
- sin thirty =BC /seven
- multiply both sides by seven
- seven x sin thirty =BC
- using a calculator we get
- BC =three point five cm
- sohcahtoa,
- oh sohcahtoa,
- you think you're east but
- you're actually quite tricky.
