No Signal

EchoesOfTarjani's Notes

Lemme clear smth up rq, "James" in this song is James Chao (also known as Yufan Chao and James Jinjangtarawong) who is a member of Cortis, a newer boy-group. He's my bias in the group, so this is a song I would make with him if we were to Collab. I've mixed mine and James's style together in this, hope y'all like it :)

Intro — Tarjani
Yeah, yeah
Don't call me, I'm outside, I got nowhere to be tonight
No signal, no signal, we're disappearing for a while

Verse 1 — Tarjani
Woke up late, missed my train, but honestly I don't mind
Same old shoes on my feet, but somehow it's a different life
Phone on five, screen going dark, but I don't really care
Got nowhere written on my schedule, so I'm going anywhere

Everybody's got something to say, telling me to slow down
“Grow up, make a plan, figure out what you're doing now”
But I've been running with a half-made map tucked inside my bag
And if I get lost along the way, I don't think I'll turn back

Pre-Chorus — Tarjani
We don't need a reason, we don't need to understand
If it sounds a little crazy, then you know exactly where I stand
We could spend the whole night just running from one place to the next
And if somebody asks us what we're doing, we'll just say, “What's next?”

Chorus — Both
No signal, we're out of range, we're somewhere they can't find
No schedule, we're changing lanes, leaving all the plans behind
Too young to know exactly what we're supposed to do
So I'll do what feels right to me, and you can do what feels right to you

No signal, don't hit my phone, I'm probably somewhere downtown
If I'm gone, I'm not alone, there's always someone running around
We got nowhere on the map, but somehow we're still getting there
Hands up, running through the city like we haven't got a single care

Whoa!
We don't know where we're going, but we're going anyway
Whoa!
Everybody wants tomorrow, we're just living through today
Whoa!
If tomorrow wants an answer, it can wait another night
We're too busy making memories underneath these city lights

Verse 2 — James
Backpack heavy, head too loud, got a hundred thoughts inside
Walk in quiet through the front door, leave with everybody outside
Everybody wants to know my next move, like I've got it figured out
Truth is, I don't even know yet, that's what this is all about

I got ideas written everywhere, some good and some insane
Half of them will probably fail, but I'll just try them all again
If it doesn't work, make another one, there's always something new
If the door stays locked in front of me, I'll find another way through

Pre-Chorus — Both
We don't need permission, we don't need somebody's sign
We don't need a perfect reason just to waste a little time
If we're gonna mess it up, then at least we'll make it ours
We'll be laughing at the memories when we're looking back for hours

Bridge — Tarjani
Maybe I'll figure everything out someday when I'm older
Maybe I'll still be chasing every crazy thought that pulls me closer

James
Everybody's racing toward a finish line they can't even see
I'm taking every longer road because I wanna know where it leads

Both
No map in our pockets, no rules written down anywhere
No looking over our shoulders just to see who's standing there
If this is a mistake, then we're gonna make it loud
We'll turn the whole night upside down and disappear into the crowd

Final Chorus — Both
No signal, we're out of range, we're somewhere they can't find
No schedule, we're changing lanes, leaving all the plans behind
Too young to know exactly what we're supposed to do
So I'll do what feels right to me, and you can do what feels right to you

No signal, don't hit my phone, tonight we're making this our own
We got nowhere on the map, but somehow this already feels like home
Hands up, screaming every word like nobody's listening there
Running through the city like we haven't got a single care

Whoa!
We don't know where we're going, but we're going anyway
Whoa!
Everybody wants tomorrow, we're just living through today
Whoa!
If tomorrow wants an answer, tell tomorrow it can wait
We're still moving, still dreaming, still wide awake

Outro — James
No signal.

Tarjani
Still moving.

Both
Still going.
Still figuring it out.
Yeah.
