Sun Never Rises

(It’s like wishing you had)

An extra hour of sleep so you can finish your dream,

This sun’s devouring me, I hear sizzling stings,

Stare at it for too long, one blink and it’s gone,

That’s what I wish because it makes me see all of my wrongs;

Avoiding skin cancer, like that’s an excuse,

Not willing to face what’s hurts me after the moon,

Never turning the damn light when I sit in my room,

Pale as a fucking vampire with vitiligo;

In order to get help, I needed to help myself,

What lesson is that when I become everyone’s help,

But the minute the light shines down the tunnel,

I cover my eyes, too bright and down I tumble;

So shut the blinds, I’ve had enough mental crisis,

In the corner I sit and my friends come to find me,

They live in the shadows, I trust every night imp,

Just once in a while wishing the sun never rises;

 

Without the sun, there’s no rain, no flowers,

So after all that pain goes away, let the clouds just

Open up, let the rainbow flow for miles

Down the road, each one of us can go with style;

But you don’t wanna do that right?

You’d rather lose the fight?

Prove tonight that you don’t need those ghouls and frights,

If the shoe fits right, why do care who’s size

Is bigger than yours? You need to use your eyes;

You haven’t been outside to see what the sun has done for you,

You want the sun to go away and cover up just to snooze,

But have you ever thought about the other ones you knew?

What about their life? You don’t consider what they’ve been through?

But everything is about you, and then you call us selfish,

You’d want the world to destroy and think you’re all intelligent,

Been in darkness so long you can’t see your mirror results,

All the damage you cause and then you swear it’s our fault;

Stop taking stabs in the dark ‘fore you cut them with knife blades,

You can see the moon once you’re done with your blindness,

Just in time to get you out with water guns in the driveway,

You wouldn’t have all this fun if the sun wasn’t rising;

 

Sun brings your meaning, your vibrance, true colors,

So when you see it setting, try and get a few others

On a beach, take pics in your arrangement,

Stop feeling like your confinement is in containments;

The sun strengthens your guts, so stick with it,

If you’re ever alone in the dark, just flip the switch,

Just cuz that’s what you can do, doesn’t mean you need to,

If life gets too hot for you, then be the reason heat cools;

 

So the sun will keep rising,

Yeah the sun will keep rising,

And those keys you be finding,

The natural light is there for each guidance;
