DEFENDER'S RAP

• Sometimes I wonder do we deserve some respect?
• Will cops serve and protect if it ain’t worth em a check?
• And will the banks let em have it or lock it away?
• When karma takes aim will their dyin bodies be saved?
• Or will the paramedics just pack up and leave?
• Will they have a safe space if they contract the disease?
• And will we kill the disease before we fully understand?
• Or maybe our enemies stole the upper hand?
• Is anybody innocent? Is anyone to blame?
• We would ridicule em if they went by any other name
• But it’s pitiful how we refuse to self reflect
• On that basic humane shit we knew in retrospect
• But in a moment of panic we forgot the essentials
• Now our future darker than what our pot callin the kettle
• There ain’t no real definition of perfect
• Only what’s considered a reward and if we deserve it
• We waitin for the coins hidin in the wishin wells
• The stairway to heaven was built in hell
