My Midnight

• Written by

V1: It's been years now,
And somehow- I came back, is this all true...?
How could you live in the back of your mind, for so long-
Thinking this imposter is you?

Pounding on the glass, with both fists- Was he listening?
Or the people he brought in, Did they hear a thing?
If only my friends knew me before he took over-
This is the second beginning, not my closure.

C: As I break through the glass,
And slit his throat at last-
I catch my breath,
And I shake as I stand...-
NOW I, can feel it when I say I.
My ribs, almost break around my pride...

V2: I blink again, dizzy off monster, adrenaline
and cologne that's almost perfume..
..I see clearer than ever as I look around my room.
Quite a lovely set-up you have collected for me, I say to his dead body,
Slowly piecing his way out, like a Matrix glitch before me.
I look at myself and I see my old smile, at the pinnacle of my new design..

One I wanted so, so- bad- but never had the guts to say,
I have some scratches- and the stress has rotted my brain...
C: But I, broke through the glass..
..The life, my midnight is back at last.
I catch my breath,
And I shake as I stand...-
NOW I, can feel it when I say I.
My ribs, almost break around my pride...
