Black and White Poetry (part 1)

• Written by

Time we open our hearts and mind and realise for generations we have been blind,
Confined to the lie thats its black and white and not just mankind,
Climbing the same mountain but left our black brethren behind,
theres no apologies that can fix what happened before and during the sixties,
But racism works both ways so why wasn't it left as history?,
truth is we're all filled with hate and cant accept another mans victory,
so we still distinguish between colour to maintain eachothers misery,
The true key to equality still remains a mystery,
Because you cant just reform a society with that much black and white history,
We segregated our nations and people by culture and races and not by good versus evil,
Created speech barriers and now we dont know how to speak on being equal,
Call the black leader a rebel and the white a political speaker,
the stereotype that ones the drug dealer and the others the grim reaper,
I wish to see the light for the future generations to come,
For our children to see love and not our pasts venom,
No monuments to our sins lets take our pasts to the grave,
so the youth that replace our struggle are givin' a clean slate
