Accidental Suicide

Dad woke up to find that

Momma ran off with another man

Leaving daddy with their daughter

Cold alone confused he really did not understand

How 12 years of happiness could just disappear in the sand

Months pass she watches as her hero starts to fall apart

Started drinking and doin drugs

Trying to mend his broken heart

Became over aggressive

Started taking his anger out on her

Goes to school with bruises all over

Wears long sleeves so nobody could see

Teachers start to show empathy

Set up counseling sessions for her and daddy

Now years have gone by and things got worse

She can’t handle the pain anymore

Snuck into his room at night

Stole some pills that would do the job just right

Built up the courage to overdose

Just wanted enough to comatose

But little did she know

She grabbed the wrong bottle

Now she’s taking a walk down death row

Standing outside staring at the stone as rain falls around

Wondering how he could let his whole world come crumbling down

Tears run down his face as he goes to take his own life now

But before he takes the fall

He makes a call

Police come running down the hall

To find him hanging from the ceiling

They find a note that says

And tell her I’m sorry for throwing her life down the drain
