New Kinda Feeling (Prod. Trapezoid)

It’s that new kinda feeling
New kinda feeling
Following my dreams
It’s that new kinda feeling

New kinda feeling
Following my dreams
It’s that new kinda feeling

It’s a new dawn, a new day, a new life, man no way
World is mine, you’ll learn today, John Stone’s the name I say
Verses come and verses go, time moves fast, but it moves slow
Contradictions are what I know, not celibate with the flow
Yeah, speed it up cause I just wanna talk
Hit me with the ball, that’s four, take a walk
Look around outside at the trees and the rocks
Whiskey on the mind, whisk away from the thoughts
I don’t know what to do next
Better not look at that text
Last time had me feeling vexed
Last rhyme had me getting wrecked
Working on myself just to get better
Rapping to cope, every word to the letter
But looking at it now, that’s not why it do it
Do it cause I love it, do it for the music
Do it for a reason, both in and out of season
Cause the rush I get from spitting every bar is pleasing
Seizing with my hands, they seem so small
Build myself up, just hope I don’t fall
But I gotta say one of these days I’ll gaze
Upon all of y’all through the mist and the haze
I’ll be up there ripping the stage
Yeah, I’ll be up there ripping the stage
Pass the mic straight to the right,
Go throw up some bars tonight
Don’t throw up at bars tonight,
Words that are not in my sights
My mind in a different place right now
Voices in my head seem so damn loud
But dammit, gotta make mom and dad proud
Do that with the flow and the way that it sounds
Used to bring me down when I was fighting off those pounds
Used to be more round when there was no one else around
Until I found a way to change the game
And rearrange strange thoughts that were in my brain
Went against the grain, working through the pain
I won’t be the same, but that’s the point of change
So I started over, new perspective on life
Put away the smartphone, dumb in my mind
Looked outside at those trees and rocks
Found myself thinking new thoughts
Introspection a new direction
Change one whole word with a new inflection
That’s not to mention that my attention
Has shifted towards anti-convention
Cause I’m not normal, but that ain’t news
Thought that meant that I could only lose
Thought that meant that I couldn’t choose
But I no longer sing the blues
Changed the hue cause I do what I want
Rep the 802, call that Vermont
Do my own thing until I die
Rap my heart out? I can supply
Cause I’m De Man, so if you demand
I can be there for you on the grandstand
Even if you aren’t yet one of my fans
I can be by your side and hold your hand
We all come from different places
Different backgrounds, different faces
I know that line seems so basic
People forget, based on races
One of my values is diversity
If you’re versus me, get out of my city
Cause everyone is different, but we all the same
We all want to set fire to this rain
We all have dreams, and this one is mine
All I need to do is go and make these stars align
Yeah this one is mine
All I need to do is go and make these stars align

It’s that new kinda feeling
New kinda feeling
Following my dreams
It’s that new kinda feeling

New kinda feeling
Following my dreams
It’s that new kinda feeling
