Throughout our differences

• Written by

Back when I was younger, people never did respect me,
Acting so out of this world, that even martians would reject me,
Teachers looked away when all the kids would try to best me,
But screw that institution, all they ever did was test me,

If I ever saw his face, I'd tell him just to be himself,
Never leave his inner thought to dust and sit up on the shelf,
Let the people be the people, and the idiots be dumb,
In the end, you'll lead an army, while those morons beat the drum,

Even though you're kinda wacky, you'll be settled down at college,
Even though you're dressing tacky, there's a lot more to acknowledge,
Even if you like things introverted, keep your friends together,
Even if you want to fall, you'll hit the ground just like a feather,

You're better then the bullies, as cliche as it seems,
Just keep ballin' in your heart, and always follow your dreams,
What's the difference if you never got a girl in elementary?
By the time you get to me, you're lady killer of the century!

Don't let people take advantage of the things you got to show,
Don't say things to look above, but don't you ever step below,
Don't let haters be the weight, defy the gravity and flow,
And remember, no matter what, you're still the coolest kid I know.
