Out of my control

Going through my day at my regular pace,
No stress, I am composed, and my mind is in place.
Letting the world rotate while I hold my place
Thoughts of her surface, like waves I can't tame.
Tryna keep it together, but it’s written on my face
Do I forget it, or let it fade without a trace?
What’s operating? Why am I acting this way?
I was fine a minute ago, now my nerves wanna play
See her approaching, my heartbeat accelerates
Tryna look normal, but my body won’t cooperate
I can’t focus, can’t think, can’t get my mind right
Chest getting heavy, my stomach tied inside
Like buried confessions are ready to collide.
I tell myself, Relax, man, you’re perfectly fine
But the closer she gets, the less I can quiet my mind
My pulse is going crazy im sure everyone knows it
Tryna hide what I feel, but my actions expose it.
Are you okay? she says. I answer, Yeah, I'm alright.
But inside, my emotions been running all night
It’s the smile, it’s the laugh, it’s the way that she moves
I can’t explain the reaction, but I feel it come through
attraction, infatuation, something I can’t wipe my eyes
Why does one little moment keep replaying in my mind?
I don’t know her well enough, so what am I painting?
A sensation she stirs, a fantasy of my imagination,
or a bond I am desperately creating.
From head to my toe, feel the beat, the rush in my veins
Tryna shake off the ache, but it circles again
Out of control, taking its toll, spinning in my brain
finding some peace, but the feeling remains
