Gold apples

• Written by

//intro (old, motherly voice, like helen mirren)
Oh mark.
What did you, get yourself into?(emphesis on "you")
Don't you know,
He listens too?

//verse 1

Watch me,
Singing with sirens.
Laying under apple trees, winds are silent.
Reading, seeing how many flowers are violet.
Leaves, freeing themselves from rooted violence
How many fruits have i eaten? (none)
How many years, how many roots have i taken?
White birds have sung,
twitters of Criminals and looters.
Stories of eggs that have shattered.
Fantasy and problems that have never mattered.
What a life.

//interlude (new voice)
So who are you to keep it all.
Lay all of it down and still stand tall.

//verse 2(note for myself: Denial, that wealth isnt promised forever)

wealthy till death us do part.
Till wood and nails have ended charred.
I've been protected but who protects our heart?
Apart from me,
Myself.
Till i breathe can't nothing take mine away.
Every blade of grass under family name.
Cuts have stamped my past on the future.
Who dares take away,
That's not theirs to take.

//beat slowly shifts, similar beat but slightly faster and drum based)

//interlude(cinematic, old timey voice)

„They tell us, sir, that we are weak;
unable to cope with so formidable an adversary.
But when shall we be stronger?"
("stronger" fades out with echos)

//verse 3 (anger)

Who *dares* take mine away?
Show yourself!
Come here and fight with no one else.
No pillowtalk prayers.
Wishing for wealth but nobody's there.
I got everything myself, hands bare.
Damn life cuz damn life ain't fair.
"stretch out Your hand and strike everything he owns,
and he will surely curse.
Curse this poor life cursed onto us.
What a life.

//verse 4

Whatever you want, i give you half i own.
Gold on your gravestone,
if you let me keep what i know.
Don't disown me from my previous life.
Not before i offer my skies.
My very ground and home.
So i may keep my second,
Third and fourth.
Let me know your price and how much i'm worth.

//outro (slower beat)
I sit on this tree stump in full submission.
Dreaming, wait- i might just be wishing.
At them shooting stars.
But he brought me down from mars.
How many trees i chopped.
How many keys have dropped.
How could'nt i see,
That the only thing that was missing.
Still missing.
Is acceptance.
