Blessing her from a distance

• Written by

I keep talking about a person who lives in my head,
Stuck on all the unspoken words I wish I’d actually said.
But it feels like she’s written herself right into my heart,
So I’ve gotta close the book, and let a new story start.
Guess I was an author drafting fiction in the dark,
Trying to find a fire when there wasn't even a spark.
See, at first, I only admired her safely from afar,
A lady with a pretty face, passing like a distant star.
But it wasn't about the makeup, or the clothes that she wore
Her personality and spirit made her something so much more.
The further away I looked, the more the vision grew,
A deeper kind of beautiful—authentic, rare, and true.
The kind of vibrant energy that changes your entire view.
And yet I keep it hidden, buried in my soul,
Afraid to cross a boundary or disrupt her whole.
instead I hold her close in prayer, wishing she is blessed,
Hoping only warmth and comfort settle deep within her chest.
She deserves a love so heavy that it wraps her like a shield,
May every brilliant, secret dream she carries be revealed.
While she is out there living life, I’m stuck inside my head ,
Replaying every phantom word I wish that I had said.
It’s a quiet, heavy choice, but I am forced to let her go
You can’t keep watering a seed you know will never grow.
So I’m putting down the pen, capping off the ink today,
Stepping out of my own thoughts to let my real life play.
No more forcing happy endings on a book that had to bend
I’m blessing her from a distance, where my healing can begin
