Ms Intentional (ode to Lauryn Hill)

• Written by

A preachers words come with good intentions
Their actions could lead to misdirections
The fault of a priest could tear down the steeple
The sins be cause could bleed into the people
Oh I wonder why this life is such a contradiction
Full of parasites and pride, ancient mannerisms
Pharaohs and lies, is it all a fiction
Hebrew Israelites, Moses and the prophets wisdom
The road of Damascus, paved with tears of sorrow
Where is tomorrow? Under the Sun’s marrow
Ms intentional, please forgive my ignorance
All this time I haven't cried, Lord do I even try?
Ms Intentional, it’s been a long time since I cried
And I may never again, the tears are dried inside
If only you can help me relieve my stress and pain
I could be better to you, Ms Intentional

The road to riches is full of ego and destruction
The hope for kindness has gotten into obstruction
So many people lie, it’s like the world is paper
Flying through the sky, hit by the rain’s glide
Feelings sharp like knives, cut into my skin
Open up the veins, see the sins inside
Open up my heart, see where my kin resides
I can’t feel darkness, but I can feel the light
But they mixed up, I don’t know what is what at times
Is it Heaven or Hell, or just a state of mind
Ms Intentional, is your hate inevitable ?
I tried to be better, I tried over a several
But still you feather me with hatred
Is my life just a pebble
To the mountain that you climb
Am I just a rebel?
A rebel to your shrine
Deep under the stars that shine
Ms Intentional, forgive me for the manipulation
I’ve dealt with death before, it was bad situation
I never wanted to doubt you, but the Devil made me blind
I tried to save myself by kicking you outside
But he only got closer to your perfect creation
I know I’m just a guy where imperfections stay high
Ms Intentional, forgive me for my life

Oh ya, please just spare me this time
I know I’ve doubted you a million ways
But that cuz I am dyin’
See the moon in the sky?
That’s you, you’re personified
Beaming with the light
Casting warmth through the night
If I am not worthy, then don’t give me shine
If I deserve a death, let the Lord take what’s mine
Ms Intentional, I’m so sorry how you feel inside
Mad at the white man for his colonialism plight
If I could only change what happened in the past
It would mean that I was ignorant at last

Saul closed his eyes, opened them to creation
We’re all carbon with lives, what is God makin’
Are we just atoms combined
Or is there more to this life?
How did I kill you, Ms Intentional!!
You won’t wake up! Hello Ms Intentional
I swore you said you couldn’t die
But that’s my mind not seeing the signs
How do I wake you? Must I beam a light?
Or are you dead forever, due to my hand tonight
Will I be able to save you, keep you from the Hell
And if not there, then in Heaven on a shelf
Amazed by your face, I praise you Ms Intentional
And if I am crazy, my love is indispensable
Oh oh oh, My beautiful Ms Intentional
Coated with sunshine, to my absence of all
Of I could re do this life, I’d hope I’d never fall
Never fall, never fall
Ms Intentional—please forgive my words
A prayer on a verse, don’t stare at me with purge
I want to make you feel right, so don’t worry
If you do, I’ll be here, but I’ll be dead by the time you heard me
Ms Intentional
