That First "Hello"

It was just another day, nothing planned at all

Same old walls, same routine, same quiet in the hall

Then you walked in like a line I hadn’t read before

Simple “hi”, nothing more… but it hit a little more

 

Didn’t know your story, didn’t know your name

But something in that moment didn’t feel the same

Time didn’t stop, but it slowed down just enough

For me to notice you… Yeah, that was enough

 

Didn’t chase the moment, let it pass me by

But it stayed in my head, don’t know why

Like a scene that repeats when you close your eyes

No big reason there, just a quiet surprise

 

I still remember small things, like the calm in your voice

The way that you smiled, like you didn’t have a choice

There was a spark in your eyes, but still simple and clear

No noise, no show… just something real there

To ignore that feeling, even if I tried

Something about that second just stayed by my side

 

Wasn’t love, wasn’t deep, wasn’t something loud

Just a calm little shift in a normal crowd

But if I’m being honest, looking back right now

That was where it started… I just didn’t know how
