Where the Sun Meets the Stars

• Written by

Like the sun and the stars, we have no chance to meet.
Maybe in my dreams, I see your bright, shining miens.
Like fire and water, we cannot share the same place.
I have many reasons to hate, but my soul cannot be set free.
The first time I saw you, my sorrow found relief.
The last time we talked, that “saw” became my grief.
You shattered my precious heart into too many pieces.
The peace you gave me faded like the autumn leaves.
The relics of your face are etched in my eyes.
The echoes of your voice were sweet as wine.
I wake each day and realize you were a dream—
A dream that made me yours, but it was just a wile.
A dream that took my heart and left the night behind.
This night became a mare, by parents and the culture
Every prayer to be engaged, they shattered it and ruptured.
And love’s soft needle in my heart was turned into a knife.
Yet still your ghost walks softly through my restless life.
Your shadow lingers in the corners of my mind,
A silent echo that the years could never bind.
And every road I walk still traces back to thine.
Perhaps in other worlds where cruel fate is blind,
The sun and stars may meet, their distant lights aligned.
And there our hands may touch, unbroken and unchained
Two hearts once torn apart, at last forever joined again.
