Chained

I done learned that success don’t erase regret
Seen rich men still chained to the pain they kept
Devil say “you made it, you can play the set”
But that voice disappear when the night get left
I don’t move for applause or the crowd reaction
Seen too many lose they soul for the right distraction
Every win hollow if you lack the passion
I’d rather slow cook truth than a fast attraction
I be talkin’ to myself when the lights go dim
Ask “who you tryna be when the hype grow thin?”
Devil say “they doubt you, go and spite them then”
But revenge ain’t peace, it just fight again
So I choose the long road, let my flaws be known
Rather honest with my scars than a false-ass throne
Devil whisper still there, but I’m not alone
I let purpose talk back, now my path feel home
