Sometimes the sky talk back, you just gotta listen

Woke up, clouds sitting heavy on my mind

Rain tap-dancing on the roof like it got time

Mama say storms don’t last, they just teach

Funny how the darkest skies make the crops reach

I been running from the cold, chasing summers

But every sunny day come with some numbers

Bills due, friends change with the climate

Funny how loyalty melt when the shine hit

Snowfall nights, had dreams in the freezer

Heart too warm for a world so deceiving

Thunder in my chest when the doubt speak

Lightning flash every time I found belief

 

It’s the weather, it change on me

Sun one day, next day rain on me

But I learned how to stand in the storm

When the wind try to bend me, I’m warn

Yeah the pressure make diamonds form

Had to dance in the rain to get warm

If the sky ever fall, I’m ready

I survived every forecast they sent me

 

I remember days broke, heat cut off

Breath fogging up the window, hope felt lost

Winter taught me how to layer my pride

Can’t flex when you just trying to stay alive

Now it’s spring, I see growth in the pain

Flowers popping through cracks in the pavement

Everybody love you when it’s 75

But who stay when the hurricanes arrive?

I been checking my spirit like Doppler scans

Trying to see where I’m headed, not where I am

Pressure systems in my circle shift quick

Some folks fair-weather, some built like brick

But I grew in the nighttime

Stars only show when it’s dark

Now I pray for peace more than praise

Clear skies, but I’m cool with the gray

be every season got something to give

Even heartbreak remind you you live

If it’s rain, let it wash me clean

If it’s heat, let it fuel my dreams

If it’s cold, I’ll learn how to fight

If it’s calm, I’ll rest for the night
