Marshmallow -VYN15
• Written by VYN15
Sunlight piercing floating white marshmallows,
My back to the sand… this scene don’t need a pillow.
Earpods in — good ol’ Shiloh,
Sky burning… breeze whispering for me to chill out
No one near me, I can shout all I want.
Waves touching the shore, playing their song.
Just remembering the times we had...
And wondering what it all meant…
I’m alone here — and I like it, no doubt.
But you just made moments fly by —
You made me stare at the ceiling
Wondering what else I could try...
To get you back in front of my eyes.
Your voice, your little imitations,
How fast you’d get jealous, no hesitation.
The fake palace you made for us two,
The way you’d hug me… like you always knew.
Your "hi" got me high —
Now I miss goodbyes.
I swore I’d stay calm,
But damn… I’m back at the start.
But our movie… it closed.
We chose our roads…
Now I sit, watching the sun sleep,
As darkness slowly creeps.
Every sunset reminds me of that day —
When you got upset,
Cuz I didn’t say goodbye after school.
I was a fool.
Too attached.
A tool.
Now the breeze turns to cold wind.
The sun — it slept after all the light it lent.
And those soft clouds in the sky
turned to burnt, dark smoke…
With no scent.
