Lyrics:
I’ve been waking up every morning just trying to get past it
Till’ a spark of life hit me from above, yeah I was like “what happened?”
Instantly I saw everything from another point of view
I’m so thankful for whatever light God sent down to me cause I see it through
I’m no longer rising up with dread, every day out of bed
Steppin’ out the door with clouds surrounding the thoughts in my head
My sight was gone but I could hear
I was being told to roll on like a sphere
I’m just livin’ every day, livin’ every day
Lookin’ at the best of every moment, even if it’s grey
Emotions out like buffets, loving everyone who stays
Like a monument in St. Louis, a gateway to escape
These blessings are to me when they happen
I’m logging the good times just like a cabin so
I won’t forget occurrences as the days pass by
I’m remembering the good times
Keepin’ em’ close to home
Yeah I’m keepin’ em’ close to home
As a young man I felt alone in my discernment
Pastors preached upon my doorstep but I never heard a sermon
Didn’t know where I was going or how to handle my burdens
Felt a sheep to everyone above me, yet couldn’t stop herding
I was broke and I was hurting, I needed a way out
Which was somehow now possible, even with being devout
That’s supposed to be a good trait, but was nearly my fallout
Like spoiled veggies on conveyer belts, they checked me out
But I learned to look past their gazing glares and take my own route
Cause why on Earth would I change?
That would be messed up in the brain
These peeps firing shots out of range
I’m just livin’ every day, livin’ every day
Lookin’ at the best of every moment, even if it’s grey
Emotions out like buffets, lovin’ everyone who stays
Like a monument in St. Louis, a gateway to escape
These blessings are to me when they happen
I’m logging the good times just like a cabin so
I won’t forget occurrences as the days pass by
I’m remembering the good times
