INTRO
This intro talks about how life is tough
but we've gotta learn to deal with it and
never give up. Bascially sets up the theme
of the entire album.
NEW ME.
This song is basically gonna be about
me struggling to forgive myself and find
a new me/a better me.
BRIGHTER DAYS.
This song is about how the pain is
temporary and it's gonna get better.
There's gonna be brighter days, you
just goin have to wait for them to come.
IN THE STREETS 2
Some of y'all have heard "IN THE STREETS",
which was my first recorded song and one of
my first written songs. This is the follow up to
that track.
SOMETHIN' BIG.
We all deal will pain in our lives sometimes.
I'm currently goin through somethin' big, and
this song is about how, like I said, we all go
through the motions.
VOICES.
This song is about how I be dealin wit these
lil voices in my head tellin' me I'm not enough
or I can't make my dreams come true and how
I have to deal with them and get through it
and grind harder everyday.
Jaylen's Interlude
This interlude sets up the next song. It's basically
me rapping out what I think my dead friend, Jaylen
(who shares the same name as me), would say if
he saw all that I have done.
JAy13n
This song is about myself (Jaylen). My basketball
number is 13, so I decided to name the voice in my
head "JAY13N", as a play on words kinda thing. I think
of that voice as my best friend, (who has passed away),
and how he's still here with me guiding me through life.
This song is his story. I got inspiration for the name from
JID's "Kody Blu 31".
SUNSET DREAMS.
This track tells the story of my life, in a brief way, and
shows what I been through and how my life and my
personality has progressed and changed through the
years and all the things I've experienced.
DO NOT DISTURB.
This is about my old girlfriend and how the bond
we built together was destroyed. Inspired by that story,
but I also got the spark of an idea to make this song from
a bar that JID wrote:
"I been workin' really hard
It ain't really workin' out,
I been prayin' to the Lord,
but it ain't really workin' out."
DESTROY MYSELF. (COOKIE CRUMBLE)
This song shares a similar message to
"DO NOT DISTURB." This one talks about
how I destroyed myself for her and she up and left
me and acted like she forgot about me. In this one I
rap about how that really jacked up my mind, my trust,
and my mental health. There's more to it, but you'll
hear it in the song.
R AND B (OUTRO)
This outro is a speech that I heard in the movie
"Rocky Balboa (2006)" said by Rocky Balboa. It's
about how life is tough and you've gotta work hard to
make it to the top. (R stands for Rocky and B stands
for Balboa).
