My city, clean the surface but the inside is gritty
Dirty, i drive along and take pity, on all these faces
I know their past and they know mine, shame races down my spine
The memories of what we've done makes us all run and hide

Summer, people walking, their open wallets tempting
To us, the workers, our asses to their wishes are bending
The money we spend drinking, sleep is the time we lending
The cousin we love, but deny, the end is always impending

My city, where you have no befriending
Every relationship a rumor mill soon to be tended
My city, a broken heart nobody wants mended
The time we spending a 101 to a life we descended

My city, i hate and love, brought me an angel
gave me a devil and a fable that love is not painful
The color i should've seen as fatal was playful
My city made me see love as something for which i'm unable
