Lyrical Analysis of...
Bad Design
- if you could see, inside my mind,
 - you'd see a plan, for my decline,
 - like a bad design, that elapsed over time,
 - that i fight against, to become sublime.
 - i think im a failure, i cant do shit,
 - even if i somehow, push through this,
 - i lack confidence, theres no audience
 - for someone like me, to ever make a hit
 - but deep down, i try anyway,
 - cos you never know whats coming
 - or what'll fade,
 - so i just paint and spray,
 - then either make the grade
 - or i'll grab a spade, just to dig my grave,
 - then its here that i guess i'll decide
 - to either lie back and die, or realise
 - that this is a place to heal and grow
 - for tomorrow is built from the seeds you sow,
 - but everything you know, makes the process slow,
 - its in the way, and it's gotta go
 - you gotta grow, you gotta grow
 - if you could see inside my mind,
 - you'd see a plan for my decline,
 - like a bad design that elapsed over time
 - that i fight againstto become sublime.
 - you see the prize is the flower
 - that blooms from a cower,
 - your eyes fill with power,
 - from every pain fuelled hour
 - the taste in your mouth
 - will eventually come sweet
 - as you find your heartbeat
 - and become less sour
 - you turn up the heat
 - and arise from defeat
 - watered head to toe
 - from your face to your feet
 - its all you know
 - planted firmly for growth
 - but you cant speak, you freeze
 - from the cold shower
 - ive had enough of the mind games with everything ive felt
 - so ill grind and grind this weak hand im dealt
 - ill be black and blue like the colour of my belt
 - eventually knocked out its not good for my health
 - from the first round right up to the twelth
 - each blow depletes my vanishing stealth
 - till i lay there bare like i need some help
 - from a crowd that consists of someone other than myself
 - i just need a shout to reach my ears
 - so all my doubt and internal fears
 - can be lifted like my body from the canvas
 - by a wizard's whirlwind and a girl from kansas
 - that takes me to a road thats plated with gold
 - winding round with every choke hold
 - and as the end's in sight i take my last breath
 - im in too deep im swallowed whole
 - if you could see inside my mind,
 - you'd see a plan for my decline,
 - like a bad design that elapsed over time
 - that i fight against to become sublime.
 - if you understand the steps then it'll flow more easy
 - this whirlwind'll blow ya it'll be more breezy
 - carpe diem, the day will seize me
 - before i grab its neck as i feel more queazy
 - im sick of it all tho, you just cant please me
 - its like im hypnotised to daytime tv
 - pupils dilated with a stare thats beady
 - im wrapped tight here by a boa being squeezy
 - no foreplay at all it didnt even tease me
 - this is all beneath me, its just fucking sleazy
 - my palms all sweaty, my hair's proper greasy
 - this hermit is hiding, hoping nobody sees me
 - if you could see, inside my mind
 - you'd see a plan, for my decline
 - like a bad design, that elapsed over time
 - that i fight against, to become sublime
