Lyrical Analysis of...
Blessing afar. Rosemary Velazquez
- I keep talking to a person living in my head,
- Stuck on all the unspoken words we never said.
- Just a silent crush that wrote itself into my heart,
- Now it’s time to close the book and let a new one start.
- Guess I was an author, writing fiction in the dark,
- Trying to understand why these feelings left their mark.
- At first, I only watched as she wandered from afar,
- A beautiful face, shining like a distant star.
- It wasn’t the clothes or the makeup that she wore,
- Her spirit and her energy made me want to know more.
- The further that I looked, the bigger the vision grew,
- A deeper kind of beauty, authentic, rare, and true.
- A vibrant, steady presence that could shift your whole view,
- But most of what I felt was a story that I drew.
- I locked the longing deep inside my aching soul,
- Afraid to cross a line, afraid to lose control.
- I hold her close in prayer, wishing that she is blessed,
- Hoping warmth and comfort settle deep within her chest
- With a love so heavy, she wears it like a shield,
- May every secret dream she carries finally be revealed.
- But a bitter choice is mine, and I must let her go,
- You can’t water seeds you already know won’t grow.
- So I’m putting down the pen, capping off the ink today,
- Stepping out of my own thoughts, letting real life have its way.
- No more forcing happy endings on a book that had to bend,
- I’m blessing her from afar and letting my heart mend.
- The story may be over, but the lesson doesn’t end,
- I close the book with gratitude, and let my life begin.
