Lyrical Analysis of...
Cheerios
- I watched em have to perch with some shit that they couldn’t redo
- You never lived that lane but it’s like it was stripped from you
- Cause all they ever do is lean back and get stacked off your labor
- If you can’t embrace it, they shove you to a chamber
- On the path with a board begging for Cheerios
- It’s turning dim, you dread the worst and you sense it most
- For your child who ain’t fed in days and his spirit’s a ghost
- What else can you attempt when the single word you get’s a “no”?
- Even if you snag some coins from contributions
- The fact is it’s never enough for shift and won’t uphold solutions
- You get sympathy assistance but they won’t retain it
- It don’t contain any substance, it’s just so the blame fits
- And you can sport it like crisp slacks or a plain blouse
- So you take on a low rank wage for the same routes
- Send the kid to care and never gotta explain clout
- Them rugged pills to ingest only make your aches sprout
- So you begin peeping around for something to grasp
- Cause they launching kicks straight to your groin while you crash
- It’s your last and you just tossed it on a scratch tag
- Cause if this don’t spark… you press it to your head and snap back
- Caught your leader strolling to his ride, you know he holds stacks
- Slide on a budget mask… and push in fast
- Aim the piece at his dome and mumble “hand me everything.”
- Drain the wallet, your cargos, the glove box. What’s that, a ring?
- Don’t overlook the stash in the gap that’s beneath the seats
- I know you’re heated but take it out on your partner between the sheets.
- Forget your peace, forget your raise, forget your ladder and your face.
- I swear if you don’t rush the hell up it’s 2 in your brain
- …He tried to stall so you put 2 in his brain
- He’s leaking out making motions, 2 in his brain
- You’re not the sort to take a soul at all
- But you just know someone watched or heard, you know the cops got the call
- Your road is done, you didn’t know what the hell to choose
- They locked you like a creature, now shocked you wound in a zoo
- You roll up, you’re staring at the front porch
- You blame it on them like they ever in life knew the score
- You step from the whip convinced it’s everybody’s fault but yours
- You hit the bell while letting despair take its course
- His partner answers, you tell her you ended her husband
- It’s not a trick or a gag but she still thinking you fronting
- …Then you blast em both and vanish out
- But you forgot about a small kid, unaware of the world’s evils
- Met traumatic venom, he needed support from decent people
- What he got instead was absence, the motive was lethal
- War steers through aggression toward the naturally peaceful
- Never saying I ain’t mindful of those who lack facts
- My issue lies with the hunger for things abstract
- The same damn grip that make em run after cash stacks
- But never pause to raise a sprout or roll grass packs
- That mindset got a homie’s gaze stone solid
- If you peep it, and twitch, they dip out all frolic
- Every prize belongs to ones who might jab your jaw
- Then ask why you mad or need some damn room at all
- I don’t trip on kindness or selfless deeds
- But I clock the imbalance in crews and creeds
- They running 2K, you on Madden
- Turnin' every turf war into savage vs. savage
- Ain’t no warmth behind that fervor
- Trampling homes like that earns honor
- If it don’t, question why they chest out proper
