Lyrical Analysis of...
Beast Within Skin
- Through the novelist of Orwell, this living hell
- Roosters crow as the wind nails then bells
- The pigs arise, the stallions wake up surprised
- Dogs in the yard pick up their stick and hide
- The chickens, the hens, the sheep smelling pies
- Out the window, steam rolling inside their eyes
- Through the nasal imagining taste within the naval
- But humanity has stricken the earth from the stables
- Where they lie in their sorrows all sad and fatal
- Until a leader arose, a goat named Lambda
- Spoke of how he will restore the way enclosed animals explored
- Get us back into the life our ancestors lived before
- Before we were domesticated and behind locked doors
- This is the animal farm, the beast in skin
- This is the animal farm, the beast in skin
- This is the animal farm, the beast in skin
- This is the animal farm, the beast in skin
- And Lambda was once a dancer
- But she said the divine gave her the answers
- That’s when she told the beasts about the humans
- Their wicked ways, Lamda preached revolution
- Told them “if we partake in mass ablution
- We can roam forever free outside the barn of institutions”
- After they took over the owner, the day the wolves struck
- All the hooves went up, all the chickens happily clucked
- Everyone was on board, even the wild boars
- They were riled up like Viking Hoards with striking swords
- Got the wolves listening at the late night meetings
- Inside the barnyard, the cats even wanted freedom
- For what I remember about November twenty third
- When Lambda took the stage and unspooled words
- “If you ain’t a goat, your rank plummets low
- You’re insubordinate to us, all the goats who roam”
- All the animals and birds heard what he spoke
- The pigeons flipped their birds like they were slanging coke
- One dove shouted “you’re a fuckin manipulator, you know!”
- Unlike his vision, Lambda saw their maddened faces
- His face turned pale, all the rams hustled to the stages
- They pierced the skin of the goats, bloodshed in the stable
- Cut the horns of Lambda and put them for sale
- But before they all could get a sense of his flava
- They cut Lambda into pieces and sent him to Jamaica
- All the creatures backed up and gave each other some game
- “If you were in charge, would you have done the same?
- Would you have shook hands, or settled shit straight?”
- Now they all went separate ways, trying to escape a pallet and a plate
- This is the animal farm, the beast in skin
- (No harm from within)
- This is the animal farm, the beast in skin
- (No harm from within)
- This is the animal farm, the beast in skin
- (No harm from within)
- This is the animal farm, the beast in skin
- (No harm from within)
- This is the animal farm, the beast in skin
- (No harm from within)
