Heaven is a Mile Away?

  3. [If the gates were gonna close would you make a run for it](this is a metaphor for saying how if you would race to become pure if the rapture was happening. If the gates were beginning to close, like during judgement day, would you scramble and make a run for the scriptures?)
  4. [Would you load your plate with scriptures before the angels closed door it?](this plays into the last lyric, except I add the biblical imagery of angels closing the door of heaven.)
  5. [Or would you choke on your fate and let God's literature take the chorus?](one of my favourite bars I wrote. What this means is that would you accept how you didn’t live for God, and instead let his word, literature, take control over your life)
  6. [Lately the church be saying you can’t find wood without the forest](this is a metaphor. Wood would be The Word, Bible etc, and forest would be the church. Some people say that you only need church to find truth but it doesn’t always come from there.)
  7. [But I’ve explored it and more morbid pages were shown distorted](I’ve explored the passages seen as being morbid, like in the Torah etc. but even these justified passages were distorted to justify slavery. Example, Ephesians has a passage.)

  28. [No matter if you made more points than the Star of David](even if you made points on why you should make it, donations, good deeds, it don’t matter if you don’t have righteousness. Also the Star of David has 6 points, hence the “points” wordplay.)
  29. Souls can be the flakiest, Christian or Athiest, [your price remains the same](human value doesn’t change based on beliefs, although the soul is different, but outwardly, our flesh is the same)
