Lyrical Analysis of...
Lost in the Abyss (Album Review/Infinity 888)
- So the album opens up with defibrillation,
- which isn't a rap but just an instrumental.
- It's basically to put it into short words.
- Music on an Elevator during an action movie right before the door opens
- and the protagonist gets straight into kicking ass.
- and it does as it opens up to his song Revived.
- ________________________________________________________
- Revived Ft. Nicoxcx
- It opens up with a Juice wrld beat. which matches the Hook vibe perfectly.
- So his verse opens up with "I mean well, meanwhile i'm still the problem"
- which is creative and set the bar high to at least maintain that level of MCing through the
- rest of the verse. and it does. between the internal rhyme schemes, and the
- play off his hook mentioning "I look fear, in the face, chase my demons away"
- He keeps the same theme of Addiction through out the verse.
- However the story telling of this is darker and the way it plays into the word Revived.
- He's not the one being Revived, but instead his demons.
- Waking up twice in his dreams, represents the cycle of addiction.
- Nicoxcx plays off of that as well.
- Then the Outro plays into the whole theme on a deeper level.
- The whole complexity of him wanting his addiction to end ,he wants to quit.
- and then when he's about to succeed he brings it back. He's indecisive .
- From the complex story telling and the metaphors in this is really good.
- I place it at a 8/10. the reason it's not at a 10/10 which it would be is the choice of
- the beat. the overall theme just doesn't match the vibe of the instrumental.
- so 8/10

- Mabey I'm not really back:
- It's not as complex as the last track but it's skill good technically, well better.
- The theme of the track isn't as well structured. Which I understand that's hard to do sometimes.
- but the theme kinda drifts off from it's main focus a few times.
- I put this one at 7/10.

- Pray for you Ft. harrytrevpev
- I like this one more than the last track. It still follows the theme of the Album.
- of falling into the Abyss but through the story telling with aid from Harrytrevpev
- it goes into a deeper level. addressing a few reasons he's in the Abyss, and why he's lonely.
- I rate this a 8/10.

- Coming for you
- This track plays into the cycle of his flaws even more so.
- and him fully adressing that he has flaws and he is human,
- and him accepting he has stuff to fix and that's ok.
- then he addresses the people that have similar flaws,
- and telling them how to do better.
- 8/10

- Transitions Ft. KQT, amp, and CSL:
- This track is him kinda doubling down on the end of his last track.
- Him becoming a teacher, and rebuking against the darkness.
- of course mixed in with talking his shit lol
- KQT and CSL talk shit too.
- 9/10
- _________________________________________________________
- Potential:
- A talk shit kinda record.( I'm a rate to not run out of room lol)
- 8/10
- __________________________________________
- Victim Ft. iced_Jules:
- 9/10, it said some cool shit and had some nice flips and shit. but some of the lines kinda missed
- like "Send a missile to your missus like the kisses of the mistletoe"
- I see what he was trying to do but didn't execute it well. however he did have great lines
- like "it's not about the werewolf but more about what the wolf wears" which is fire as fuck
- ______________________________________________________
- gotta make it:
- 6/10, not his best work on the album but it's good
- ___________________________________
- Chasing freedom:
- 8/10 it plays well into the addiction scheme again. also some good points brought up.
- ____________________________
- willwesurvive? Ft. Rapboat:
- 7/10, I feel like his verse wasn't really there. Rapboat's verse was fire though.
- His verse wasn't horrible just didn't match the other tracks levels.
- _____________________________________________________
- Testaments ft br4ckett:
- 7/10, his testament of the street life.
- ______________________________________
- Death
- 7/10, questioning death and he brought some points up. but they could have been
- deeper. felt like it was rushed a little as well
- ____________________________________________________
- Phoenix:
- 6/10:
- plays in to the album theme of his inner demons 'monsters'
- and him offically killing them off. not my favorite due to the fact it's kinda all over the place.
- ___________________________________________________
- Static:
- Is static, it's the end, the t/v turned off on this story we where showed.
- _________________________________________________
- Overall Review:
- I love how it sticks with the theme of inner demons and the cycle of sin.
- and how it went from him being hopeless, to him confronting it, to him sharing his
- testimony, then him about to relapse in a way, and then him rising above and ending the cycle
- and killing off his monster. However, a few of the tracks don't fit well with the theme and story
- and it's kinda like a commercial break during a show your really invested in.
- I give this Album a 8/10, it was a great concept album and well done.
- any critics are not attacks just a point of view from a MC and fellow music creator
