Lyrical Analysis of...
Her hearts desire.
- She pictures the floor beneath her melt away with
- Every step she takes, she knows where she is headed.
- However, who she is running for is far in the distance. If running
- Is what you can even call it. But, she’s trying nonetheless.
- The bottom of her feet, torn and bleeding. To freedom. But where
- Is freedom? What is freedom? How does she know? How
- Is she so certain? For her sorrows to wither away the further she
- Gets. A name. A name she says. As her hand reaches out to call
- For somebody. Freedom. Her hair bounces in the wind as she
- Leaps and jumps and runs towards…freedom. She falls. But
- Her heart beats hard and yells at her to lift her head and pick
- Her self up. Go. Freedom. A shadow is visible. Where is she
- Headed? She looks behind for a split second to see her trail of
- Blood from her feet that she is leaving behind. Each footprint
- Leaving parts of her pain in the pool of crimson red. Onwards
- She pushes. Oh but her body aches. Her mind is aflame. Yet, her
- Heart is pounding. Forcing her to keep pushing on. Closer. Closer.
- Almost. She screams at the top of her lungs when she realises
- Darkness is behind her. The trail of footsteps gone. The grass,
- The trees the thorns she’s been running through, all gone.
- Enveloped In the veil of nothingness. She does not want to get
- Swallowed back into the pit of blackness when she’s only just
- Made it out. Go. She screams. Go. Her tears falling but barely
- Making it to her chin as the wind blows them away. Finally
- She can see her abode. She can see her safety. But the darkness,
- It’s catching up. No. She refuses to let it grab her by her conscious
- And fights against the compelling force trying to drag her back down
- To her misery. There, at the top of the hill she is fighting for her life to
- Climb, her freedom. Lightning fills the vessel of who she is so desperately
- Trying to reach. Bright. Blinding. A pair of cold, steely blue eyes meet hers.
- He sees her aching body. Her bruises. Her tears. She barely makes it to the top.
- She falls at his feet. His lightning getting stronger by the second.
- She has no energy to even look up but she manages to crawl.
- He bends down. Lifts her face up by the chin and kisses her wet eyes.
- His lightning now exploding. It’s so powerful it causes the heavens to split.
- His anger unleashes and tears right through the darkness haunting the girl.
- He saves her. The grass is visible again. The sun is warm again.
- This is what she fought her. This is her freedom. Him.
