Poetry Slam 3/14/24
- A small bird once lived in a tree
- born recently and could not see
- Always crying and always hungry
- This bird here wanted to be free
- Over the years the bird learned to fly
- When it could it would fly into the sky
- When mother asked it would only lie
- Mother said Soon little I will say bye
- The little bird was very cocky
- I don't have to listen to mommy
- I must take go on a big journey
- Only to find himself now lonely
- Mother bird left and would never come back
- I don't know what to do in this new habitat
- Survival was now only in his thoughts
- Not flying or going on journeys over sidewalks
- Soon this bird learned and understood reality
- As the bird went through so many tough tragedies
- Soon the bird struggled in his thoughts every night
- Eventually, he just gave up and never fight
- The little bird now is lonely in his tree things
- Wanting to fly but no energy in his wings
- Regretting his choices with his mother bird
- If she forgave him or was remembered
- Until he was done and finally Surrendered
