CHALLENGER'S RAP

- You noticed I was susceptible, you picked me like a vegetable
- And now I’m surprised by your absence when we at one time were inseparable
- “It’s my fault for sure (shore)”, you swept me from the bay
- Into a hazardous thunderstorm I shoulda seen from miles away
- What else can I say? You took the wind out my sails, no lifeguard on duty
- Lord tell me how I fell captive to this majestic beauty?
- Soundin’ love “sirens” at me, now I’m a mariner in the sea
- I thought you was a mermaid, now I’m chokin’ and can’t breathe
- Friends believed I was gullible, so they left me for dead, mutiny
- It was tough to find nourishment when the island I was left on provided fruitlessly
- Lunacy moved ruefully through me, for the next 5 months I saw visions lucidly
- Of you with a new guy havin’ the time of your life, it made me wanna write my love life’s eulogy
- I failed to adapt, so I gathered lumber and built a raft
- It took time to craft, but I drifted that wood out to sea and never looked back
- To get to the treasure on the map, sometimes you gotta get attacked
- Pillaged and ransacked of everything but the clothes on your back, your village burnt til’ the landscape’s charcoal black
- She got me talkin’ like a pirate, cause she raided my chest
- My heart was missing, so I reunited with me hearties and went on a quest
- To the Atlantic coast to find the key in the west with minimal food and hammock rest
- It was my only hope to unlock new possibilities and fill this unprecedented abscess
- We ate, drank and were merry under pink skies
- But when they didn’t subside, we knew by sunrise they were a warning sign
- At half past 9 some tentacles arise, the ship was unaligned, so we were kraken the whip til’ that thing died
- Runnin’ rampid blastin’ cannons to ensure we didn’t have to jump ship and swim for our lives
- Daylight began to fade, Jolly Roger was unscathed
- I thank Neptune every day that the crew and I survived this tirade
- It was at this moment I no longer cared about finding the keys to love
- Cause a loyal crew and a low tide provided the perfect opportunity for my brain waves to ease up
