CHALLENGER'S RAP
- i've made so many mistakes in life
- there's no counting them all
- perhaps once, i was innocent
- precious and small
- but that never lasts
- and the true tests of character
- are never found while hunched over in a shitty desk
- had to keep the costs down and use prison labor
- the underfunded school
- with underappreciated, underpaid, uniformed teachers
- who are forced to follow a biased curriculum
- lacking critical information on health, wealth, sexuality, culture
- and the historically entrenched prejudice
- surgically embedded in our psyches
- i've made so many mistakes in life
- there's no counting them all
- perhaps once, i was innocent
- precious and small
- the cruelty of the world has ripped me apart
- and i'm here sewing my heart back together
- i listen to evidence when it's time to check the weather
- i hussle hard just to get by and that's most definitely true
- and in those moments when i let the darkness in
- and i need some wholesome bars to consume
