DEFENDER'S RAP

• Broken glass and open novels, the night is draggin'
• After the breakup, no make-up as one might imagine
• His last text is past tense, he can hide the passion
• Passin' a message, I'm breathless that he's unattached and
• My mirror is shattered, tears are drippin' like raindrops
• Hopefully, the catharsis is a point where the pain stops
• Repressed emotions, trynna restress and notice
• That I tried to hide from the Sun, 'til he suppressed the solstice
• Mixin' lies with the truths, 'til we can ingest the potion
• However, it isn't magic, it's tragic being a notion
• That the truth is what happened, where the lies are what could have
• He tried to convince of the things that he took back
• But I cannot look past the hurdle of reality
• Imagine I jump over that obstacle of mentality
• Without breaking an ankle, but I'm straining my heart
• Trynna send my love although my tears are staining the card
• With the ink of loneliness, folding my love in two
• Toss it in an envelope, told him "I'm grateful to you,"
• Now, I'll meet the second one, who'll piece the missing half
