DEFENDER'S RAP

• Dirk grew up with poverty that was following me to school n back/
• Got home and 'ma was fixing us a yummy snack for us to snack on/
• Dad was working late shifts, the cops created terror where terror didn't exist/
• Everyday morning before I stepped out the door, I grabbed and equipped the Mac/
• Grabbed my lunch money and bolted as fast as I really could go out of it/
• On my way to the bus stop I encountered Tom, he was the bully with palms/
• He was planning something I could see the little twinkle in his eye lid/
• He and some friends were beating on a kid, ready to throw him off the bridge/
• It would've been an early death for him, had it not been for some nearby cop breakin it/
• But that wasn't much to Tom's liking so he stuck an axe in the cops head like a Viking/
• The cop fell quickly to the ground beneath, crying for help, harder he grit his teeth/
• As this was happening the boys just fled, but one of them left behind their meth/
• And I knew the cops would use that as evidence, so I took it with me to save them kids/
• As I started walking away, a responding officer suspected something was off about my face/
• He could sense that I was nervous, so he put his hand on my shoulder and asked, "can I hold this?"/
• Turns out he saw me grab the bag, he cuffed me and threw me in the back with my hands on my lap/
• At this point I was crying I didn't want to go to jail, I could sense getting mad mail from my parents/
• I spent the next few years locked up, and turns out my luck sucked heavily/
• The prison guards hated me dreadfully, my mind turned criminal and the time went endlessly/
• Take this as a message, remember to look at your loved ones in the face at breakfast/
• Let them know that you love them, it's fine, you never know if it will be for the last time/
