DEFENDER'S RAP

• Sittin here in H827 up at UAMS on fathers day/
• Listening to my Stepfather asphyxiate until the lord calls him away/
• Been a hell of a week hardly no sleep but ya boy ok/
• Dont worry bout me but if you can pray for my moms that would be great/
• Been contemplating my own mortality, even tho its fathers day we keepin our kids away from here/
• Mom been in tears all day and it's hard to see cause she ain't cried in years/
• But I get it and understand but it dont make it any easier to be clear/
• We really aren't a sentiment family we have empathy but its hidden under shear/
• Determination not to let the world see our sensitivity and keep our emotions protected from our peers/
• As I watch my mind wonders back thru the years/
• When Bob came into our lives and changed my mothers and my fears/
• That he was takin her from us but he wasnt he was jus protecting her from our addictions/
• Cause me and my siblings were all on narcotics and they were in recovery so he set restrictions/
• Until they had a grasp on the disease as the called it but we jus stayed trippin/
• But it worked out he gave her life stability now hes layin here in coma/
• Been in it since Monday his brain is dead but he holds on/
• A tru fighter to his last breath Bob I thank you for saving my momma/
