DEFENDER'S RAP

• Donald Trump has been, as we millennials say, literally going berserk.

• In the space of a few months, he's called Mexican immigrants rapists and drug-runners, insulted women, and talked an awful lot of trash about Obama.
•  
• Specifically, he referred to Obama as “the worst president in the history of our country.”
•  
• I’m not exactly sure what Obama thinks about all of this, but I do know that an Obama impersonator who calls himself “Alphacat” is done with Trump’s foolishness. But he’s not tweeting about it – he’s rapping about it.

• To fully understand what’s going on in this video, you’ll need to know the context of the original “Back to Back.”

• A brief summary: In July, rapper Meek Mill started trash talking Drake, and Drake fired back with a set of diss tracks. The first one wasn’t so hot, but the second was called "Back to Back," and that’s the one that “Obama” is channeling here. Check the original (warning: offensive language):

• In the video, Alphacat’s mannerisms are exaggerated but instantly recognizable. He’s even managed to turn Obama’s signature “uhhh” pause into an ad-lib on the level of Rick Ross's “UGH!” grunt.

• The lyrics, though, are where this parody shines. Every other line is either a reference to some meme (don’t miss the “"Why You Lyin" pose), pop culture happening, or an actual political situation.

• But he drops the heaviest line right on cue, saving the deepest line for a play on when Drake made fun of Meek playing second banana to his girlfriend’s concert tour:

• You love her, then you gotta give the world to her / Is that a world tour or your girl's tour?
• “Obama” hits Trump with this re-work:

• Trump’s the type of dude that mocks the world’s poor / But is the world poor or your soul poor?”
• Whoa.

• But then he goes right back to comedy, following that with his own interpretation of the infamous “Twitter fingers / trigger fingers” line:

• Right wingers turn to slur slingers / You’re getting bodied by a left-winger
• There’s also plenty of the expected insults: references to Trump’s hair, his orange tan, and even a veiled threat by way of the rumored (read: fake) El Chapo bounty on Trump’s head.

• As Obama’s final term comes to a close, he’s been a bit more open about his views. He’s even employed an “anger translator” to express how he really feels. But until Kanye runs for president in 2020, this is probably the closest we’ll have to having an actual battle rapper in office.

• By the way, nobody’s stepped up to play the part of Donald Trump’s rap doppelganger yet. Maybe, in true The Donald fashion, he’ll just record his own track.
