CHALLENGER'S RAP
- I was born in the same town as Alex Faith that's Riverdale if I'm not mistaken, at a hospital in Clayco but raised in SoFoCo, short for South Fulton County or what you would call the outskirts of Atlanta from Fairburn to College Park and even though I've tried to depart and live in other places, I end up parked back in the area code 770 404 or 678 and feet planted firmly back in this Georgia red clay, for some reason I can't stay away too long. I got my haters in new Orleans and Indianapolis and some other places too but no matter what I keep coming back to the A so in Jesus's name I pray God has a plan for these streets and my sweet heart don't break or catch a cap or a charge when it ain't easy not to be sleazy when you kick it at the bottom of the barrel ya dig? Lock stock and loaded I'm doing good not to be pop lockin and droppin my junk my dignity & my drink while I'm getting white girl wasted till I forget what seat at the bar in which club did I leave my keys to my car and my identity... So far it turns out "At least" is about as valuable as the paper we chase round the clock when China comes knock knock on expecting gold in exchange for our gazillion dollar debt to find a few cobwebs and 1 Million Dollar bill with I. O. U. Signed Sincerely, the U. S. Treasury in sharpie across the place where the face of the fake president should be but he's too busy hiding underneath our feet in tunnels connecting the globe but instead of segregation based on race or nationality we are separated by our class, clout, Cash cow and social status. Since we're here we may as well get together and go ring Luda's door bell cause he lives right down the street from me in colla Park so what the hell? If we can't get him I bet you $1 bubba sparks would give us some guns and somewhere to run when shhhhhh hits the fan and there's a sound something like when you first let all the dogs loose at the pound that moment when the mutts have begun to realize their doors have opened, when like a tidal wave or stampede, your homies, honey bees, free weezy and willy turn killer, it's about to go all jumanji ready or not it's hide and seek because it is really hard to see when the lights to out in suburbia and the only difference downtown and my block is the buildings are bigger, but still nowhere to hide or run or turn when the city Tyler Perry and me call home is bound to explode in these streets and if I do nothing I'll blame myself when it will be like Rodney king married hurricane Katrina and they had a baby named Armageddon unless we do something now and refuse to be pitted against one another when really we all share 1 mutual hater and he is our only enemy you know him as black Hollywood rock and roll and the music industry but really his name is the bane of existence but nothing to fear like the boogie man he's real but his power is only as real as you make it, introducing and rebuking in Jesus's Holy name, Satan. No matter what, there's only one winning team but I know this race is fixed and my bet is on the King Amen.
- I know you're down but just to recap my fly trap Free style that's rap on the fly for the purposes of answering your questions and blowing your mind or even the top off of your noggin you can think whatever you wanna hakuna matata just me myself and whoever cares who cares cause only the Lord can judge me and somehow I'm still in good standing in one account because my outstanding balance was paid for eternity every day by His one and only Son by his blood I am saved I know He's gonna make it rain on me till the sun comes out and then we'll do it again and again and again because we will be living forever if it's not to much to ask God can I stay pretty for the rest of my everlasting life while I live it up cup runneth over with blessings on blessings on blessings just me and my clique even if we're not a crowd it's yours mine ours, hers hers and his good company for you your mama and your cousin too!
DEFENDER'S RAP
- Rapping for the first time it's nice to meetcha
- I'm a little awkward when high but I'll greetcha
- With some friendly respect that I expect
- When I'm unloading the debt in my head with a pen
- The burdens of my mind I explain to you
- Shit keeps me up late at night
- This is my guide I abide your rules
- It seeps up my mouth like I am psych-
- Otic. Not one to be toxic.
- I can't talk smack in a party
- And get people rowdy
- My real name's David
- I like to play with
- Fire while I get higher trying to light this right here
- To stop inhibiting my desires
- I'm not much of a rapper
- The shit I say might go down the crapper
- And everything I say might go in through one ear and out the other
- My rhymes' not the type to get people hyped
- You see
- Admittedly
- I'm still trying to find the right light
- To portray this hell that I call my mind
- If this is too dramatic for you, then get in line.
- This shit's therapeutic. I write just to do it.
- I didn't think much through it.
- I think I'm solid cuz my mind is fluid.
- In two languages I am fluent
- And it's still hard as fuck to explain what I'm doin'
- Everyday I press my luck to train, fuck the booin'
- I grew up in an area that's straight up suburban
- My parents supported me and that's my burden
- They came here with a dream and they workin
- The same damn job the last 20-somethin
- Years. I seen the tears.
- It ain't easy bein an immigrant in a world of fear.
- I know this is called a "battle,"
- Like the black sheep in the cattle
- I tried all my life to not blend in and saddle
- My own damn horse and ride,
- Take control of what meets the eye
- The daily struggles to which they are all blind
- Everyday's just another grind
- These are the kind of thoughts that take up my mind.
- No droppin' bombs
- This just my response
