CHALLENGER'S RAP

• Growing up i wanted to be on the movie screen
• The struggles of the world to me were unseen
• Until I was flipping through the pages of a magazine
• People dying overseas who were still in their teens
• More deaths than the hurricane that hit New Orleans
• I praise those who put their uniforms on to serve
• Go to war in arms with those you call brother
• Come back from action and most of you suffer
• Protecting us who can enjoy our summer
• You lay your life on the line and become our inspiration
• I wouldn't mind going into the army to protect my nation
• Have stories to tell to the next generation
• Most of you don't see your family for so long
• But you keep them in your heart and stay headstrong
• Always in your mind from dusk to dawn
• Even when the enemies are dropping bombs
• Some of us take advantage of your service
• Living life without understanding your purpose
• That the most dangerous thing is beneath your surface
• Wake up in the middle of the night recalling past actions
• Going through some shit is just a normal reaction
• I've seen some people that treat you with disrespect
• Not fully knowing that their freedom you've kept
• You give up your privileges for post traumatic stress
• Our nation focuses on stuff over sea instead of at home
• Cops killing blacks and they feel all alone
• Why aren't we all unified, that just something I don't condone
• Whites claiming to be brothers but they leave without a word
• We are moving backwards we need to move forward
• Stand your ground no matter what transpires
• Instead of just being there to hold up lighters
• Destorm said this is a video and I took it to heart
• While so many others just disregard
• Oh yeah you say you're there for them until you die
• Claiming that you can be someone that they can rely
• But as soon as there's an altercation you just fly
