DEFENDER'S RAP

• Society undeniably needs to check what it's trying to do
• Telling me and you to change when we've got 'nothing to lose'
• Making us plastic or wrapping us up in elastic
• Telling us life is good and will always be fantastic
• When our minds are filled with static and we've all just really had it
• Cheerleaders and models are who we all want to be
• Fill our minds with images of who we ought to see
• And believe and dream to be when we're just three
• While they're shown up on TV in neon and lights
• I'm just outside trying to avoid my parents fights
• Dreaming of being on the stage lit up in paradise
• But that's not who i want to be, it's all cause society
• Telling me who i should be, who i should like and try to live for
• I open my eyes and im blinded by all the lights, though their off but,
• If your told a light is shining and everyone around you is blinded
• Then it must be the lights that blinding, but what if the lights off, what then?
• If society tells you that blue is purple and purple is blue
• Then you'll believe them because everyone else is, too
• Our society is a land of confusion, an illusion of a democracy
• Everyone's told to vote but they just sit around and watch TV
• We're a land of screen zombies, money screamers and politicians
• We all sit here just wishin to be somethin that we aren't
• While the kids grow up looking at us at least hoping to be smart
• Our society has blinded us, though we think it was created by us
• Society, a illusion of mass proportions created to distort
• Everything we've asked for or wish for so far
