DEFENDER'S RAP

• Yo Im writin this rap about how I feel
• Sometimes it gets hard just to be real
• I find myself strugglin to measure up
• To the expectations life puts around us
• Everyday we get a ton of hidden messages
• From our friends our family other influences
• If a person can make you dress think or talk
• In the way that they want dont you think somethings wrong
• In the mornings I dont wear what I truly like
• I dress to try to fit the worlds stereotypes
• Its like one side of my brain is at war with each other
• They just cant agree for the life of the other
• And youd think Id be old enough to not really care
• About what other people think well Im not yet there
• Its hard in a world filled with glossy magazines
• For self image not to change based off what people think
• Sometimes I wonder will the world get better
• Well in my opinion its just turin blacker
• We all have days when were not feeling our best
• But we can try to shine through our weaknesses
• I hope now we all have some true motivation
• To once and for all defy expectations
