Nine to Five

Have you ever questioned why your placed in a position,

Time at work everyday, that's how you make a living,

Not enjoying it, hating it, but that hate is hidden,

Cos that's how you make a living, that's how you make a living,

But it isn't, that's simply how you take a living,

Educated in a system, your taught to stay within,

In this slave living, information's hidden,

But if your brains different, it's got information filling.

The working never stops, just earning til you drop,

Not working on your crops, weight hurting on the top,

Of your back, it can stop, it's certain that your lost,

You ain't worthless your just lost, should be working as your boss.

See when you leave education, it seems we stop learning,

Get a full time job and never stop working,

Working for the sake of paying your way, put your savings away,

So your family can pay for your grave.

 

It's madness, living on this path isn't lovely,

Can't show your potential, there's no time for discovery,

Starting off another week, stuck in a muddle see,

But my potential is endless cos there's no one above of me.

It's sad cos we ain't taught about the latest way of living,

Information at your fingertips, break free from the prison,

Anything is possible so make your own position,

Success doesn't come from this stable living.

 

 

Cos we're never taught about the purpose of life,

Get a 9-5 and start working in life,

But I'm learning in life, said I'm learning in life,

And there's so much more to life than burning your time,

 

It's crazy, you think success comes to the lucky,

As if it ain't possible to climb out of nothing,

But we're born out of nothing, we're formed out of nothing,

And every single thought you've ever thoughts out of nothing.

It's mad in this life, the only limit is mentality,

Cos with the right mentality, anything can happen G,

Everybody's talented, but most are never practicing,

Or never having faith in themselves and it's trapping em,

Drowning out your thoughts, forgetting your emotion,

In our generation, it's like we're drowning in an ocean,

With no time to think, as if we're all in motion,

But really we're distracted by the media and slogans,

Minds aren't open, not taking opportunity,

Life paths social, don't choose our own path stupidly,

Basing our decisions off what others expect,

With no self respect, the power's in the wealth they collect,

That's a lie, the power's in your hands and your chest,

Power comes from action, you can plan and select,

The direction that you move in, just stand as your best,

Don't stand like your standard or stand with the rest.
