Remainder (produced by Ekko)

i hope the memory never fades
but i don't easily
indulge in "everything is okay's,"
'cause it don't seem to be.
i know there's several reasons to say it,
but i can't agree with these
at all. my memory still remains,
'cause i don't demean the means.

pieces of a culture strewn about, it's gruesome how
the feasting of these vultures is embraced. it makes the news
and crowds are drawn to it. morbid as the morgue where all are hauled,
i sit in awe of this society's obsession with depression.
what's the cost of it? living. dying to be divided.
kids are driven to combine it with the finest in alignments.
keep 'em medicated. occupied. distracted by what's on the rise:
flashing lights and lots of lies; the oldest trick's been modernized,
or so it seems. call it like i see it: broken hopes and dreams.
motiveless corrosion. an encroachment on control. a means
to an end. never neglect respect, but remember:
you can't spell "believe" without a lie direct in its center.
it seems every time i try to pry a mind away from lies, it
simultaneously finds a way to realign with primal rage.
never has the sky appeared so red before. rest assured,
it's merely a reflection of our treachery forevermore.

i hope the memory never fades
but i don't easily
indulge in "everything is okay's,"
'cause it don't seem to be.
i know there's several reasons to say it,
but i can't agree with these
at all. my memory still remains,
'cause i don't demean the means.
