Clockwork

10 Hail Marys, I harmonize for practice
9 lives running out, I’m moonwalking backwards
8 steps from perfection, it’s just ’round the corner
7 deadly sins keep skating in my persona
6 is the city where I grew up in
5 years ago, yeah, I lived therein
I keep running, jumping over aqueducts
Turning my face from all that’s hazardous
Stabbing knives whenever we reach for hugs
But momma, don’t lie for me, cry for me —
Sing for me, breathe for me, see for me
Constantly trying me — I’m less than what I gotta be
While my eyes vision the nation’s hypocrisy
Driving me wicked, going crazy like, yeah
Chosen my eyes to witness the dust
Chosen my mind to feel all the rust
Chosen my files to archive the lust
And when I collapse, tell my story — and I pray you’ll forever think of me!
